Audrey puts a tie on: the result is… hot
by Petit Fours
My God, can I just say that this film poster might be the best one. Ever? Sure I always knew Audrey Tatou was cute, though based solely on watching Amelie, I always thought she was a little too whimsical and saccharine for my taste.
I like female film leads with a bit of inner pain, steel and mannish couture. Looks like Coco Chanel has let Audrey show some, well, judging by this poster anyway. Doesn’t she look like a really hot French version of Katherine Moennig? Yes she does. Elegant shirt – check, cheekbones of a goddess – check, mixture of apprehension and insouciance – check and check.
Can Audrey go in the L Word? Better still, can someone start a French L Word, le L Mot (?) starring Audrey and about 8 other French women who look roughly the same as her?
S’il vous plait?
Audrey as Coco has a ‘lesbian-lite’ affair with a famous French actress who wears her sleek boyish designs. The real Coco had some proper lesbian affairs. But also collaborated with the Nazis during their occupation of Paris… let’s move on.
Lemon Tart has posted the Coco Before Chanel trailer here. I think it’s something we’re all a bit excited about.
Coco Before Chanel is out now.

Hi,
Not sure that this is true:), but thanks for a post.
I went to see it yesterday whilst all my girlfriends swanned off to Brighton Pride! Well I’m glad I opted out from the rain and stayed in with Audrey Tatou (well sort of) . Not sure why it got a mediocre review from all the critics? but I really liked it, and I can be somewhat a movie and a fashion snob. Yes the real Coco does have lesbian affairs, but the film puts a tame light on it…maybe an innocent crush so to speak, nothing sexual. I like the fact it didn’t go into all the fashion references we all know about, and stuck to Coco before Chanel. At the same time the critics have a point more controversy and drama could have been drawn out…but didn’t that happen in the later years? Not complaining though, lots of great fashion and the final staircase scene is fab. Watch the movie for yourself…..
I loved this movie – the dialogue was so clever in parts and I was laughing out loud pretty much throughout. Really, really good.
