Décolletage Decor: 5 necklaces for Spring

Spring! I love spring. The sunshine, the grass, the only slightly freezing water at Hampstead Heath’s lady pond… there are a lot of reasons to love warm weather, but my favourite by far has to do with cleavage. Yours, yes – I can’t say that I don’t love the sight of a lady taking her puppies out for a walk. But mainly – and more selfishly – my own.

Don’t get too excited now – I’m not the sort that goes fawning over themselves in public (though on a side note – have you seen people do that? So weird.) No, this obsession is more of a selfish sartorial nature, one that has specifically to do with lightening my wallet in order to weigh down my neck. Though sometimes a good décolletage is all it takes, I’m the sort that is happy to pay homage to my inner magpie and find something shiny to put around my neck.

Several things have already piqued my interest.

Curls and Coils necklace, Anthropologie, £29.19, via anthropologie.com

How marvellous is that? I love the movement of this piece – it’s just busy enough to be eye-catching, but is a simple enough colour that it’s unlikely to distract form the rest of your outfit. The neutral tone means it will probably go with anything and plus – if you have dark skin, like I do, it’ll set your skin off something fabulous.

Ship Pendant, Topshop, £10, via topshop.com

I’m a bit of a sucker for all things naval, so I love this kitsch little pendant. And think how great it would go with the right tank top? Mmm. Love tank tops.

Sloane beaded necklace, Marc by Marc Jacobs, £105, via net-a-porter

Not necessarily the cheapest option, but I love the chunkiness of the beads and the cute little bow at the back.

Bird house necklace, Urban Outfitters, £14.00, available only via urbanoutfitters.co.uk

All that glitters is not gold, and the same must be said of this dainty little number. I’m not sure Midas would want it, but I know I do.

Dinosaur necklace, Tatty Devine, £114.00, available at tattydevine.com

Look. I’m not saying it’s logical. I’m not even saying that it’s very smart. What I am saying is that I want this in a visceral way that only some people understand. Like Winona Ryder.

I came across your article whilst trying to find a ring but I must say…you have the greatest taste!

Coincidence! I wear this same collection on me when I am alone in my bath! I wear them all at once but they have tangled and almost strangled me…it might be to do with the fact that I had a heavy rope around them ( longests of stories!)

Would you mind,-as you know how they are built…to assist me with this mess?
I’m in the US. San Francisco to be precise.I(I’m not in my bathroom…I’m surviving with the tangle but I need someone that knows exactly what I need…)
