We’re meeting JD Samson of the cute boyish looks and Le Tigre fame on Monday, along with her new electro-dance band, MEN. We’re going film a few scenes with JD and just wondered if you guys had any questions for everybody’s favourite lightly-mustachioed gender-bent hearthrob.

Ask his theory on ‘why english people smell’.
Ask her how she deals with people who find it difficult to understand how she IDs. Genuinely really want her to answer this.
Oooooohhh you could ask who her favorite feminists are! I’d love to know that.
Also ask if she thought it was lame when we asked for a photo with at club mofo. Or, uh, if she finds it annoying or not when squealing fans come and ask her for photos in clubs.
@Fairy Cake I found a good interview with JD with a bit about gender identity recently. Can’t remember where but I found it from a quick google. Basically it talks about defining as female but not really caring what pronoun people use. I often automatically say ‘he’ for JD – I don’t know why. Maybe because my friends who present kinda similarly go by ‘he’. But if JD was passionate about defining as female and didn’t like it when people used male words then I’d always use she/her, obvs.
I’d like to hear about her feminist heroes too – and something about how she’d like to see contemporary feminism working and progressing from now on.
