The 7th annual International Day Against Homophobia was this past week – May the 17th to be exact. What did you do?
Where’s that money going?!
In case you didn’t know, the Poppy Project, which provides support to victims of sex trafficking, was stripped of 95% of it’s funding by the Tory government, funds which were redirected to the Salvation Army to provide the same support. IMO this sucks big time. And it’s made all the scarier by this Swedish investigation into organized and systematic homophobia and homophobic activity in the SA.
No Pride in Moscow
Moscow authorities have banned Pride events of any sort in the Russian capital city on the basis of a “large number of objections it [...] received from members of the public”.

People are coming out, like, everywhere! The president and Chief Executive of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, Rick Welts, and CNN anchor, Don Lemon, have both made public announcements that they’re out and proud. Yay!

Obligatory douchy Catholic Church pedophile update
In a thoroughly shocking turn of events, a report released by the Catholic Church in the US has stated that all that pedophilia that went on in the Catholic Church was a result of the easy, breezy attitude of the flower-power 60′s. The Holy See earlier declared that the real problem was of course, that the creepy old priests were touching boy-children as opposed to girl-children, but they seem to have dropped this line of argument, thankfully. No word on what caused that massive cover-up.
If you can’t say it, it’s NOT REAL
In what is possibly the “adult” equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and singing “lalala”, Tennessee lawmakers are trying to outlaw the use of the word “gay” in public schools – and they’re one step closer to getting what they want. Petulant and ridiculous – how are these people in government?
