Cake snaps at Mofofest, January 9th

At the moment, ultimately my perfect night would be at a cathedral-sized club carved out of ice, complete with pillars and spiral staircases, an excess of free cider, and a big slide leading you into the venue. Which is basically some dire mash up of every late nineties dance video ever made, an East 17 Christmas music video and that irksome ad for some kind of credit card with a guy sliding through a city on his way home from work. Buy hey, I can’t deny my brain its twee nightclub fantasies.
Anyway: my point: Mofofest definitely came in a close second to this pipe dream for the year so far. Aside from the brilliant DJing, the best of which included internationally-famous DJ Lauren Flax (interview on TMC coming soon), the Twats and a whole host of excellent indie bands; Mofofest was crammed with a whole load of amazing faces: lezes, curious straight gals, fashionista boys, and lots of enthusiastic dancing feet. Plus; The XX’s Romy made an appearence, which is kinda a girl-music-royalty seal of approval.
If this night was anything to go by, Club Motherfucker’s future events will be well worth polishing off your best shoes for. What larks.
