Cake Snaps at Twat Boutique, July 1st

July 5, 2010 SCENE 1 Comment

So. I could pretend that when I was growing up my Dad was Bruce Forsyth and my life was a spinny whirl of ex-Eastenders stars, artistes and celebrity hairdressers. But this was not the case. Well, apart from the fact that God apparently lived in our village (my sister said so – according to her, he looked a lot like the vicar and his name was Peter).

Yes, aside from the Almighty living down the lane, my life was bereft of the gaudy gaze of fame. So I can’t deny that when I was buying a cider ‘tother night and noticed that a certain crooner called Beth Ditto was also sipping on a drink I was a little struck by stars. Yes ladies and gents – a deity does reside in London, in a little pub called the Dalston Superstore.

Anyroad. What a night it was. Beth’s girlfriend turned up too in a pretty incognito hat (see below), chum Nathan DJ’d along with a veritable feast of record spinners, and much fun was had by all. Here are some little snaps demonstrating this very fact.

photographs by Holly Falconer and Christa Holka (who courteously provided us with the glitterati snaps Holly missed.)
