How to speak like a lady: Polari is back angel
By Petit Fours
If you ever wanted tumblr-powered, tartan-backed proof that gay boys really are the wild chemically-enhanced party ladies that appear in musical theatre and the daily mail’s letters’ section, then it can be found on Community Gossip.

This is a blog. It’s what the Joiners would be like if it were a blog. Most of it is fairly incomprehensible, but the glossary is real gem. Read it in its full glory here. Here are a few edited titbits of The New Polari:
Angel - Pronoun. A term of affection. Related to ‘babes’, eg ’Dying to see you tonight Angel!’ (see also ‘Negative Angel’)
Bize – Goodbye (formal)
Bizies – Goodbye (informal)
Hizies- hi, ciao(zies) etc (informal) eg. ‘Hizies angel babes station!’
Homo Zapien – An unfortunate individual who is so boring and earnest that they manage to extract the very party essence from even the most powerful of the Angel Alliance. Lighten up girls, life is a party! (see http://communitygossip.tumblr.com/post/931955400/new-moon-ferocity)
Shopping for disco - To go clubbing, eg. ’ I can’t make the conference on The Misguided Power of Heteronormative Behavior because I’m shopping for discotonight. Bizies.’
Now you can say hizies to those angels you meet on the Hackney Road after you’ve been shopping for disco and understand what they say back to you. If in doubt… clearly take a french/italian word, add owzie, and maybe rub your nipples a bit.

As a member-babes of the Angel Alliance, can I just say, I love TheMostCake but only just seen this piece on CommGozz. Flatlining for it.
