The Most Cake// Art Party: Saturday 6th March

February 24, 2010 SCENE 3 Comments

Dear readers, cake-lovers and p(art)y crashers,

After the stunning success of The Most Cake Launch Party last November thanks to you lovely lot, we thought we’d jump right back in the saddle of the funtime horse and sweat profusely over another offering.  But, not content with a mere (and only slightly figurative) piss up in a brewery, we’d like to request permission to engage your brains and other senses – mainly the ones that like sparkly things – too.

Behold then, The Most Cake// Art Party, where the talents of some the UK’s most exciting upcoming & established artists and photographers will be showcased seamlessly against a backdrop of stupendous tunery, thanks to an awesome line-up of DJ’s representing the crème of London’s gay nightlife.  And that’s not all, oh-ho no…

We’ve taken our arty sensibilities and run with them, which to you folk means an opportunity to adorn yourselves with body/face art on the night courtesy of facepainty talent Daria Petrillo, plus a unique, one-off installation designed especially for The Most Cake.

So, come one come all. Indulge those creative bents. And cut some bad ass shapes on the rug of good times.

We’ll be offering a chance for you get to know our monstrously talented exhibiting artists & photographers right here over the next nine days (N.B. they’re beyond awesome).  And… last but most definitely not least, we look forward to seeing all of your wondrous faces there and thanking you in person for helping our little caterpillar of lesbian ponderings grow into a beautiful webby butterfly that gets bigger and strongerer every day.  Cheers for that.

The Particulars:

We’ll be opening our cake-smothered doors from 7pm to give our exhibition the time and space it most definitely deserves, at which point you can also dine at the venue if that’s your bag. From 9pm we’ll be cranking things up a notch as our bursting sack of DJ talent (full line-up below) takes the helm, and the party, right through to a sleep-mocking 4am thanks to our late licence. Bring your best moves (and shoes?), as resident photographer Holly Falconer will be capturing the whole night for you to point and ogle at post-party on your essential guide to lesbian London, www.themostcake.co.uk.

I am moving house on the WORST day. This, the march against domestic violence, and Girls Girls Girls, all taking place on the same day that I have to move furniture, pack boxes, and do a little cry.
