Gutentag dear readers.
Welcome to another indulgent iMovie discussion of Lip Service, the show Lemon Tart loves to hate and Devil’s Food Cake loves to get a bit excited over. … Continue Reading
In a report that both terrifies me and makes me sick to my stomach, a 5 Live Investigation has delved into the rarely considered, but surprisingly prevalent, problem of forced marriages. In an in-depth interview, a young lesbian woman of Middle Eastern origin describes the ordeal she suffered when she came out to her parents – the repeated attempted marriages, the rampant violence and the parental encouragement to commit suicide. … Continue Reading

So you may find this video terribly self-indulgent. But we have a lot to say: too much to fit into an article (hi Devil’s Food Cake on DS Murray).

You guys should know – there are perks that come with writing for TMC, one of which is most definitely preview discs. Oh the joy I felt when the first episode of Lip Service popped through my letterbox – it was a pretty sweet feeling. And the premiere of Lip Service this week was pretty exciting too: now that the first season of the Real L Word is over, I’ve been waiting for something gay and trashy … Continue Reading
So who watched Lip Service tonight? Hailed as the ‘British L Word’, we at TMC headquarters have been looking forward to the show for months. Literally. And tonight’s viewing was good – the healthy shot of lesbian drama (not the real kind, Christ, don’t we have enough of that) … Continue Reading

Their promise of a British L Word seems to have drained away over time, much like my respect for Jenny Schechter did circa 2006/2007. (Seriously, she wasn’t THAT bad in season one!) According to their website Lip Service was set to hit our screens in Spring 2010. So what’s going on?

Yes yes, we all know it’s coming. And thanks to various leaks official and otherwise across the world wide web, we also know who’s in it, loosely what it’s about and what writer Harriet Braun had for tea last night. That last bit’s a lie. … Continue Reading

If you’re as excited as me about Harriet Braun/the Beeb’s upcoming lesbian drama series, then I’m willing to bet my left arm you’ll be somewhat interested in finding out who’s been cast to play the lusty Glaswegian lady-lovers that you’re due to spend much of Spring 2010 unashamedly lusting after. … Continue Reading

The keenly observant among you will be well aware by now of longstanding rumours surrounding a new British lesbian series over at BBC headquarters. Up until now however, that’s exactly what it has been (rumour that is). We folk at TMC are pleased to announce that more moist-making small screen news has dripped its way into the press this week … Continue Reading
