Dalston is firmly the centre of London’s gayland with a large number of nights happening on or just off the Kingsland Road including Twat Boutique in the Superstore and Other People’s Property in the Korsan Bar, and there’s a scattering of others at either end of that enormous thoroughfare – in lesbian classic Stoke Newington or Shoreditch, … Continue Reading

As everyone knows, Dalston Superstore is not a superstore. Nor is Twat Boutique a shop. However, there is a Tesco supermarket just opposite.
The inevitable question has to arise… which is better: Tesco or Dalston Superstore? … Continue Reading

While the gays of California (along with many happy gays all over the globe) were celebrating the overturning of Prop 8 (California’s ban on gay marriage), the lesbians of East London (and their chums) were doing everything but being matrimonial at Dalston Superstore. … Continue Reading

Okay I admit it – I’d been expecting five Crystal Fighters: three boys and two Spanish girls with poetic things to say about Basque mysticism and chord structures. Peaches DJ-ed at the Twat Boutique Warehouse Party, I managed to grab her arm, but then had to let go because she was in pain and Holly took one picture.

Someone asked me on my Facebook wall recently what they sell at this night under my “attending” entry on my newsfeed. Err. Yeah. And that was from a lovely Canadian friend, and I won’t ever have anything said against that section of the global community. But yeah: … Continue Reading

May 6th and a hung parliament loomed ahead… but Twat Boutique dolled out double strength fun regardless. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs guest-DJ’d, … Continue Reading

I don’t know about you, dear reader, but I’m struggling to remember the time I was a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed punter skipping down the street to Twat Boutique last week. Easter’s potent combination of revelries and sleep has left London dopey and doe-eyed, blinking against the constant rain. … Continue Reading

As usual, Twat Boutique was filled with all manner of fun: including the top notch Hannah Holland DJing and a whole host of delightful dolls. Supreme as ever.
Excuse the tardiness with these pics… they’re almost vintage now, in scene time anyway eh?… … Continue Reading

During the first six months of TMC’s giddy adventure, Lemon Tart has trawled the East End with her trusty camera, super sized flash and unfortunately inebriated assistants/cakettes more times than she cares to remember, snapping you at your very finest. Back at Cake HQ we can’t help but notice the impressive array of pouting talent that has been splashed across our little corner of cyber space as a result, … Continue Reading
